Yemen Cancer Care has a vision – to relieve the distress, prolong life and make a tangible difference in the lives of cancer patients in Yemen. Operating from the UK, we are committed to raising funds and awareness to provide essential medical care, treatment and support services to those battling cancer in Yemen.
Yemen is currently suffering from the world’s largest humanitarian crises, where there are more than 22 million people in need of humanitarian assistance.

Providing Life Saving Care to Those Battling Cancer
Nearly 10 years of severe war pushed the economy on the brink of collapse, leaving millions relying on aid in the form of food, water, medication and shelter. The conflict was not the only tribulation for the people of Yemen; they had to further deal with the effects of climate, disease outbreaks, the COVID-19 pandemic and a lot more. So many are currently suffering from vaccine-preventable diseases but a lack of access to healthcare means they’re left to suffer.
One of the deadliest diseases anyone can suffer from around the world is cancer, where cells in the body grow and reproduce, invading and destroying surrounding healthy tissue, including vital organs. Suffering from cancer anywhere in the world is an immense challenge, but suffering in Yemen, a country with a collapsed healthcare system, offers the patient little chance of survival.

Approximately 35,000 Yemenis currently suffer from various stages of cancer with dozens losing their lives every week. More than 11,000 Yemenis are newly diagnosed with cancer annually. Nearly 57% of the diseases in Yemen are considered noncommunicable. Of all those who suffer from these diseases, very few can access adequate healthcare provisions.
This is why we exist at Yemen Cancer Care. We’re putting all of our resources and efforts together to assist Yemeni cancer patients, who otherwise would suffer unimaginably until their final days.
